International Tyres at the TyreSafe Briefing and Awards 2025

We were proud to attend the TyreSafe Briefing and Awards 2025 – a major event in the tyre industry calendar. It brought together professionals from across the UK, all focused on improving road safety through better tyre management.

What the TyreSafe Briefing and Awards 2025 Delivered

Held at The National Motorcycle Museum, the TyreSafe Briefing and Awards 2025 offered both insight and recognition. It brought together government officials, manufacturers, campaigners, fleet operators, and service providers. All were united by one clear goal: reducing tyre-related incidents on UK roads.

The event opened with a welcome from Stuart Lovatt, TyreSafe Chair. This was followed by a powerful talk from Commander Kyle Gordon of the National Police Chiefs’ Council. Other key speakers included Becky Guy from RoSPA and Jamie Hassall from PACTS. Together, they covered everything from accident prevention to system-wide safety.

Additionally, presentations from Halfords, the Government of Jersey, and Lancashire County Council showcased the importance of collaboration across sectors. From enforcement and education to innovation and community engagement, the range of topics underlined just how broad and urgent the tyre safety mission is.

TBR Guidance Highlighted at the TyreSafe Event

For those in the truck tyre sector, one of the most valuable takeaways was the spotlight on the Fleet Tyre Management Guide. Created by TyreSafe and Lancashire County Council, the guide is a practical tool for fleet operators.

It outlines key areas such as tyre inspections, pressure monitoring, legal duties, and tyre selection. In other words, it’s a simple yet effective way to share best practice. As a result, it can help operators reduce risk and improve fleet safety.

Why Tyre Champions Matter – A Message from the Fleet Tyre Management Guide

One important recommendation from the guide is the need to appoint a ‘Tyre Champion’. This person takes responsibility for tyre checks, scheduling, and safety routines. At International Tyres, we fully support this idea.

In fact, we already work with over 1,000 Tyre Champions across the UK. They help ensure that fleets remain safe, efficient, and compliant every day.

Supporting Tyre Champions After the TyreSafe Awards Ceremony

At International Tyres, we go beyond the basics. We help these individuals become Product Champions by offering guidance tailored to their fleet’s needs.

Whether the application is long-haul, construction, or mixed use, we support each decision with deep product knowledge. With over 70,000 truck tyres in stock and more than 1,000 SKUs, we provide one of the UK’s widest selections.

This gives our partners the confidence to choose the right product every time.

Looking Ahead After the TyreSafe Briefing and Awards 2025

The event made one thing clear: while progress is being made, there’s still more work to do. Moving forward, collaboration across the industry will be essential.

We’re proud to support the mission and will be following up with Stuart Lovatt and the TyreSafe committee. Our goal is to help drive this initiative even further.

Finally, congratulations to all speakers, award winners, and the TyreSafe team. It was a well-organised and meaningful day. We’ve enclosed a copy of the Fleet Tyre Management Guide—a must-read for anyone working in the TBR sector.
