Royal British Legion

Back to all articles

The Royal British Legion was formed in 1921 with the aim of supporting those who had served in WW1, as well as helping the families of the Armed Forces community. The organisation has continued in this effort for over 100 years and now works with 180,000 members, 110,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities.

The support provided by The Royal British Legion starts in service and continues for a lifetime, through providing expert advice and guidance to supporting with recovery and rehabilitation and transitioning back into civilian life.

The Royal British Legion relies on donations throughout the year and in November they lead in commemorating and honouring those individuals who have served in all conflicts, through their Poppy Appeal and parades.

In November 2023, International Tyres and Trading supported the Blackheath branch of The Royal British Legion with a donation, collected from a portion of the sales made by our customers for 1 day. This resulted in us raising £600 which was presented to representatives in Blackheath.

Sue Morgan, a volunteer for Blackheath Royal British Legion said “Thank you to International Tyres, Rowley Regis, for the generous donation of £600 presented to us.

With the money they have raised we will be able to purchase a much needed new Base Drum to enable us to continue our Remembrance parade each year.”
