Give Back: Shelter Birmingham

As part of our monthly Charity give back to the local community, International Tyres and Trading selected Shelter Birmingham to be our chosen charity for December.

Working with Regional Community Fundraiser, Fiona Conn, we developed a campaign to donate a portion of our sales from Friday 8th December to be collected and donated to this very worthwhile cause.

In the West Midlands alone, there are currently over 4,500 families who are homeless and almost 60,000 throughout England. During the Winter this can be a particularly difficult situation for those who are struggling with housing issues, which we feel makes this a vital cause to support.

Fiona Conn, Regional Community Fundraiser for Shelter in Birmingham, said: “In 2023, Birmingham declared a Housing Emergency, with 19,500 people on the housing register and 4400 people stuck in temporary accommodation. The city also has the highest rate of homeless people stuck in temporary bed and breakfast accommodation in England, and we believe it is vital to raise awareness of this. Every 4 minutes, a household in England becomes homeless. Funds raised by International Tyres will help our frontline services to continue providing free and expert support to anyone facing homelessness.”
